Katarina Chatterbox’s favorite food from Spain is Chocolate and Churros! She tried chocolate and churros in many places in Spain, including Barcelona, Cadiz, Cartagena, Valencia, Alicante, and Malaga. Her favorite chocolate and churros came from a cafe called Valor, but all chocolate and churros are good!
When Katarina Chatterbox visited Genoa, Italy, she discovered that they are known for their focaccia, Focaccia is a type of bread that was first made 2000 years ago in Liguria (where Genoa is located). The perfect focaccia is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and dripping with olive oil. It is so delicious!
Portugal is known for it's Pastel de Nata (Portuguese custard tarts). In fact, it is one of the country's most popular national dishes. So, of course, Katarina had to try it! Her favorite Pastel de Nata came from Pandaria Central in Lagos.
When Katarina visited Puerto Rico she did a walking tour of the town. Part of the tour included a cooking class that taught how to make mofongo and mojitos or nojitos (without alcohol)! Mofongo is a Puerto Rican dish that uses plantains as it's base. Plantains are a staple in the Caribbean and are often used in the same way as we would use potatoes in the United States.
